Twenty-three applications from students were received for the Scholarship Program. The applications, from the standpoint of grades earned, were within the guidelines of the program; the essays for choosing education as a career were, for the most part, clear and concise, making the final choice by the Scholarship Committee very difficult. Eight scholarships, one in each area, were awarded to students who had completed at least their second year of college. The scholarship will be paid to the college in which the student is enrolled. The guidelines for awarding the scholarship state that the recipient will be the son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter, legal dependent or spouse of an active, retired, or deceased member of the Indiana State Teachers' Retirement Fund.
